The captain, agent and/or the shipping company which owns the ship must report to the port authority prior to arrival. This may be done by:

When doing this, the details of the ship, the cargo and the purpose of the entry must be reported.

These details are processed by Havenbedrijf IJmuiden B.V. so that a correct schedule can be prepared. The port authority can then allocate a berth and pass this on to the captain, agent and/or the shipping company..
